New BMW I3 and I8 Teasers

As We all know that BMW makes some of the most powerful and advanced cars in the world, but that does not mean that the German company is not interested in expanding their horizons into the lucrative market for electric cars. Considering this BMW Company present the first official teaser of the first models of the line, called i3 and i8 , which probably will begin production in mid-2013 to be presented as models 2014.

Since missing over a year for its release, still do not know many details about the cars, although it is estimated that the i3 will have a range of 150 km with a new electric motor or a generator similar to that used in the Chevrolet Volt . For its part, the i8 coupe exclusive target market is trying to combine high performance with environmental interest. This car will use a three-cylinder engine to the rear wheels and an electric motor to the front.

Thanks to this combination the i8 will have an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in under five seconds and a top speed of 225 km / h, which is impressive considering that will consume only 33 km / l.
