Bjorn Lomborg Fights for Real Challenges of Our Planet

Today, US and ther developed nations faces the great challenges of Unemployment, housing crisis and the low quality of education.

Bjorn Lomborg (46 Year old) is a renowned Danish economis, the founder and leader of the Copenhagen Consensus and has been named as one of the 100 most influential leaders according to the magazine Time. He teaches at the Copenhagen Business School and director of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, a research center based in Denmark whose purpose is to find the best ways to invest money to solve major world problems.

According to the Copenhagen Consensus, the real challenges of our planet are malnutrition, malaria and AIDS / HIV which affecting millions in the world's poorest countries. The Copenhagen Consensus is an initiative that seeks effective solutions to those problems that overwhelm the world.

Bjorn Lomborg said, the Copenhagen Consensus asked a panel of top economists in the world, including four Nobel laureates, how to invest $ 75 billion over the next four years or slightly less than $ 20 billion per year. It is a realistic amount to on peace keeping, on addressing environmental issues like global warming and research on things like vaccines or increasing agricultural productivity.

In the Copenhagen Consensus 2012 there are 40 proposals. Out of which top most 5 proposals are:
  • Project to reduce malnutrition, hunger and improve education.
  • Increase the subsidy for malaria treatment.
  • Increased immunization coverage for children.
  • Eliminate parasites of all children of school age.
  • Increase in TB treatment.
